Dear East Meadow School District,
As we prepare for our Thanksgiving Break, I am personally thankful for all the people who work and volunteer to make our East Meadow School District a great place for our students and their families. Every day each of you come prepared to provide the best experience for our students. You ensure a safe and nurturing place for our students, as well as provide opportunities for our students to learn and grow as individuals and citizens.
I am thankful for a creative staff who look for ways to motivate and excite our students. The central office team and I are thankful for our students who come to school every day ready to learn. They give us all a daily reminder of what is important and why we are here. Our students across the district in celebration of Veterans Day, spent time celebrating our veterans, both past and present, in a number of commemorative activities and celebrations. Students and staff have worked to support our friends in the South and West, who were devastated by hurricanes and other natural disasters, through food drives and the collection of desperately needed health and welfare items. Our students and staff truly care about their community and nation as exemplified through the numerous acts of kindness and charity.
I am thankful that there are too many examples of our students’ and staffs’ acts of kindness to list. Our school district is full of wonderful people, and wonderful programs. Our community is supportive, and contributes both time and resources to our schools. I am truly thankful to be a part of the East Meadow School District and community. Thank you to all the parents, staff, and students for your hard work, your focus on what’s best for our community and the many sacrifices you make, both large and small.
Have a wonderful and Happy Thanksgiving with family and friends!
Dr. Kenneth A. Card, Jr.
